10 DAYS 9 NIGHTS MIKUMI, RUAHA, UDZUNGWA NATIOANAL PARK & SELOUS GAME RESERVE.

Day 1

 

Dar es Salaam and Mikumi National Park

Morning pick up from Hotel, Airport or Ferry terminal and drive to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 hours drive from Dar es Salaam On arrival you go for afternoon game drive in Mikumi National Park with overnight at Tan-Swiss on Full Board.

 

Mikumi National Park is Tanzania’s fourth – largest National Park and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. Within its 3230 sq. km its set between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the south-east. Mikumi hosts buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons zebras, leopards crocodiles and many more just to mention a few.

Day 2

 

After breakfast drive to Ruaha National Park with stop in Iringa for lunch after lunch proceed to Ruaha national park on arrival you start with game drive on route to Ruaha Tanapa Cottage

Dinner and overnight at Ruaha Tanapa Cottage.

Day 3

 

 

After breakfast you go for full day game drive in Ruaha national park with packed lunch enjoy your lunch on one of picnic site which your guide will choose.

Dinner and overnight inside the park at Ruaha Tanapa Cottage on full board.

Ruaha National Park covers an area of 20,000 sq. km and a vast and magnificent wilderness area and is Tanzania’s largest park.

Ruaha National Park is the home of largest population of Elephants, it also hosts Larger herds of Buffaloes, pride of Lions, Leopards, Giraffes, Kudus, Grant’s gazelles, Wild dogs, Ostriches, Roan and Sable antelopes and more than 400 different bird species. The great Ruaha River flows through the eastern side of the park and is home of hippos, crocodiles and water birds.

Day 4

 

Early morning game drive in Ruaha national park and back to the camp for late breakfast.

After breakfast continue with game drive up to sundown.

Dinner and overnight at Tanapa cottage on full board.

Day 5

 

Early morning game drive in Ruaha national park and back to the camp for late breakfast and after breakfast drive to Udzungwa mountain national park for overnight at Twiga hotel on full board.

Day 6

 

After breakfast you go hiking on Udzungwa mountain national park with lunch boxes.

Enjoy your picnic lunch one of picnic site which your guide will choose.

After mountain you will drive to morogoro for overnight at Arc hotel on full board.

Udzungwa mountain national park is one of Tanzania most outstanding and exciting wilderness area, with unique wildlife species inhabiting this altitudinal range of forests.

Udzungwa is known as the primate park, and currently there are 12 species of primates.

Udzungwa mountain national park is one of thirty-four World Biodiversity Hotspots and one of 200 WWF Ecoregions of global critical importance. The Eastern Arc are small and fragmented mountains, each block having a patch of remaining dense forests with high rainfall which makes them seem like islands in the sea of surrounding arid savanna vegetation.

The mountain range sometimes is termed as the Galapagos island of Africa.

Day 7

 

Depart after breakfast with packed lunch boxes for selous game reserve.

The drive will make you pass through farms along Uluguru Mountains and villages. On arrival in selous you will start with game en route heading to south part of selous game reserve with overnight at Hippo Tented Camp Full Board.

Day 8

 

After breakfast you go half day game drive in selous game reserve and back to the camp for hot lunch after lunch relax on the bank of Rufiji River before evening boat cruising on Mighty Rufiji River.

Dinner and overnight at Hippo Tented Camp on full board.

Selous Game Reserve covers 5% of Tanzania total land area and is approximately 55,000sq km, Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest wildlife reserve and Tanzania’s most extensive protect area.

Selous game reserve provides shelter of large numbers of Elephants, big populations of Buffaloes, Wild dogs, Lions, Crocodiles and Hippo in the mighty Rufiji River, also has a rich variety of birdlife and some of Tanzania’s last remaining black Rhinos.

The reserve is named after the one of the famous British Frederick Courtney Selous who was killed in the reserve during WWI.

Day 9

 

After breakfast you will go full day game drive with packed lunch boxes in selous game reserve and you will have a chance to visit hot spring.

Dinner and overnight at hippo tented camp on full board.

Day 10

 

Early morning walking safari and back to the camp for breakfast.

After breakfast drive back to Dar es Salaam with packed lunch boxes, On arrival in Dar es Salaam you will be dropped at the Airport, Ferry terminal for last ferry to Zanzibar or Hotel.
